Funtime Preschool is part of the Recreation Department with City of Fort Collins and is a proud Universal Preschool (UPK) Provider! Our school-year program runs September - May and generally follows the Poudre School District Calendar for schools out days/holiday breaks. Our program continues in the Summer for Funtime Adventures Camp for 4-5 year olds. (additional registration and tuition required. Not funded by UPK).
Funtime Preschool's mission is to lay a foundation of diverse abilities unique to each child, which will promote social-emotional learning, critical thinking, nurture self-esteem, and instill a love of learning. Staff provide a secure & comfortable learning environment for children to discover and cultivate their own unique abilities & interests by creating a developmentally appropriate atmosphere of stimulation, opportunity, and discovery.
Classroom teachers utilize the Colorado Early Learning and Developmental Guidelines to develop both individual and group lesson plans. Applying an Emergent Curriculum, teachers plan activities and projects based on the specific group of children they are working with, taking into account their skills, needs and interests. This includes a balance of structured, teacher-led lessons and play-based, child-directed activities. This style of intentional planning provides a comprehensive approach to each child’s unique social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
Our 4-year old class (UPK) runs on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays from 8:30a.m. - 5:00p.m. (25.5 hours per week). UPK fully funds 15 of the 25.5 hours. The remaining 10.5 hours are based on $8 per hour ($28 per day/$84 per week).
Our 3-year old class runs on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 8:30a.m. - 5:00p.m. The tuition is based on $8 per hour ($68 per day/$136 per week).
