In addition to core subjects such as mathematics, science, and social studies, Immanuel offers instruction in Bible, technology, music, Spanish, art, physical education, and library courses for all elementary school students. Students are also engaged in reading, writing, spelling, and grammar skills on a daily basis.
Immanuel has a multi-grade classroom format. Multi-level classrooms have many benefits both socially and academically. Socially, younger children will look to older students for guidance while the older students organically learn about mentoring, leadership, and collaboration. In addition, students in a multi-grade classroom tend to be less competitive with one another and more cooperative in their learning and behaviors. Academically, this structure allows students to excel while learning at their developmental level.
Using differentiated instruction, teachers design whole and small group activities to address varying student strengths, needs, and interests while meeting state standards of education for each grade level. In our classrooms, the main focus continues to be the learning needs of all students. Our classrooms are grouped as follows: Kindergarten,1st grade, 2nd & 3rd grade (combined), 4th & 5th grade (combined), and 6th–8th grade (combined).
"Our Terrific 3's class is a child's first introduction to preschool. We focus on socialization, sharing, and getting along with others. We work to develop fine motor skills, have a joyful outlook on school, and a love of Jesus. The class meets two days a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:15–10:45 a.m. Children must be 3 prior to September 15th.
Our Fantastic 4's class learns about shapes, numbers, and will be exposed to the alphabet through fun and hands-on learning. We will prepare for Kindergarten by practicing our listening skills, extending our attention span, and developing our fine motor skills. The class meets three days a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:15–10:45 a.m. Children must be 4 prior to September 15th.
Our Fabulous 5's class is an expansion of the 4 year-old class. Children in this class cover all the same topics, but with more in-depth activities and more hands-on experiences. We will further explore letters and numbers. The class meets four days a week, Monday through Thursday. Class is from 12:30–3:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and 11:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Children must be 5 prior to December 15 and/or have attended preschool before. Admission to the Fabulous 5's will be determined by the director.
In addition to Preschool we offer Christian education for Kindergarten to 8th grade private school and have a full year round Childcare development center offering childcare for enrolled families and siblings.
Immanuel's Childcare Program exists to provide a quality Christian environment where children can be nurtured according to God's will. We provide a seamless transition between school and daycare for your child if your schedule prevents you from being at Immanuel during regular drop-off or pick-up times. Our regular hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the exception of most school holidays. Please consult our childcare staff regarding hours on holidays and half-days. Upon availability, all children who attend Immanuel Lutheran School and their younger siblings ages 3 years (and potty-trained) to 14 years will be accepted into Immanuel's Childcare Program."
Our son has been attending Immanuel since preschool. It was an unexpected journey born out of a need for childcare, down a road of amazing teachers, a caring community and Biblical teaching. With a summer birthday, we were very thankful to have the 5-year old Pre-K option. And then we continued on from kinder. Our son cherishes his school. And we are thankful every day that he gets to go to a school where he has friends across multiple grades, which started with a middle school buddy system for chapel when he was in preschool and continues as the school meets weekly as an entire school. When everything broke due to COVID, he still met with his class for instruction every morning and afternoon online. He had a stable schedule that kept his learning seamless. Music class continued as well. We are looking forward to another great year."
