NOCO Virtual Farmers Market…Set the Table, We’ll Bring you The Meal!

By Alexa Vasquez, Founder/CEO and the NOCOVFM Team and Candida Marques, Co-Owner, Marketing/Sales & Website Director November 8, 2020

As Thanksgiving draws near,

you may be wondering what will be different this year,

after all, it is 2020.

I can say that many of us are not expecting the usual Thanksgiving celebrations that we have had pre-Covid. Prior Thanksgivings were full of family and friends all sitting close together at the dinner table enjoying good food and great conversation. But wait… everyone sitting close together enjoying the huge turkey, holding hands, kissing, hugging? What? Can that even happen this year?

Some of our customers have been thinking about the holidays and wondering how they will be spending them. Some have decided to stay home and enjoy a smaller meal with just immediate family. Some are having only a few family members for dinner after they have passed the fever test or shown a negative Covid result.

Whether families are together or apart, many will be hosting virtual dinners and even after dinner virtual parties to see, speak with, and be closer to relatives and close friends. Sharing meals via Zoom may sound strange, but it is not impossible and can even be fun.

If we can’t be in the same room, let us be in the same Zoom!

One thing is for sure, no matter how people are spending Thanksgiving, many I have spoken with are not traveling over the river and through the woods, but instead are staying put in their own homes, cooking smaller meals or ordering pre-made dinners complete with the sides.

The pandemic is keeping families and friends apart this season and with that comes the anxiety of preparing a full course meal, when many of us may have relied on mom, grandma, aunts, or whomever to cook and prepare us the meal. But one thing our culture likes is reinventing stuff, and home cooks, caterers, chefs, and families across the country are coming up with ways to make the holiday feel special even in these strange times.

So how are you planning on spending your Thanksgiving Day? Many of our customers are outsourcing their meals… meaning they are having the dinner pre-cooked, made from scratch, and delivered fresh right to their doorstep and this is what we at NOCO Virtual Farmers Market are doing too.

Our wonderful chef, Angela Maxwell, of Home Baked Foods Meals, will be preparing complete Thanksgiving meals that she will cook from scratch using only the best of locally sourced ingredients. Angela will be showcasing her Thanksgiving Dinner made to order cooked meals in her store this coming week until November 19th. There is a deadline for placing orders so she can cook and prep your dinner for delivery on Wednesday, November 25th, just in time for your Thanksgiving dinner table!

Browse her store and look at her amazing family weekly meals, in various portion sizes, even kiddo sizes! The same will apply to her homemade Thanksgiving pre-cooked meals that arrive fresh and all you will need to do is set your dinner table, heat, and eat!

While you are thinking food, take a deeper look at the NOCO Virtual Farmers Market website where you will find some amazing cheeses to complete your cheese platter and complement your bottle of wine. Mouco Cheese has some of the best cheese on this side of the Rockies.

Check out our other vendors who will bring you bread, muffins, cakes, pies, snacks, drinks, coffee, candy, and much more from their shops. But don’t stop there…. Check out our crafters, especially Maranda’s she brings you all types of table décor, from fall table centerpieces to beautiful faux fall flowers to decorate your home or to give to a guest. Creative Hands has decorative fall chalk plaques and stands that will complete the scene and for your front door… look no more than to Colorado Home Boutique!

We even have candles to accent your dinner table from Cupola Candles, 100% soy, and free of chemicals, did I mention locally made?

We don’t know about you, but we here at NOCO Virtual Farmers Market will be staying home this year. No large family gathering, no friends from out of town, only Alexa, myself and the kiddos, low key, with great market food and trimmings, a nice bottle of wine and the New York, Macy’s Thanksgiving parade that will be smaller and only showcased on TV… what a nice way to enjoy the day and kick in the Christmas season!

See you all soon, stay well, stay safe and please shop local, browse our website and if there is something you want, let us deliver to you!

If you can’t find what you want, let us know, and we will work at getting it to market for you. But most of all stay safe as Larimer county moves from level 1 of safe at home to level 2, by all means, let us deliver your meals, groceries, crafts, and more to your doorstep. We are fully Covid compliant.

Taking care of our readers is what we do and what we enjoy doing. We strive to keep our community safe and our businesses open and flourishing and we can’t do it without your support.

Have a wonderful week, see you next week and don’t forget to:

Live, Love, and Shop Local for all your Bear Necessities!
