THE ALLIANCE PROGRAM:
Our infant room is a calm, comfortable, and a loving environment are the things infants need to grow with us. This can be done through our home-like environment and nurturing teachers. We provide familiar relationships and routines which help children feel safe and comfortable. We gently encourage skills in attunement, attachment, and independence that allow children to grow at their own pace. To accomplish these goals, children are provided with inviting surroundings, a variety of materials and furniture for their size, activities designed to allow growth and finer development of motor skills and nurturing and experienced teachers.
Our infant/ toddler program provides a safe and nurturing environment designed especially for 9 months to 18 months. We will help children in growing fine and gross motor, language, and social skills.
Toddlers are rapidly growing into their very own personalities. They explore, climb, and understand the beginning stages of problem-solving. A child’s excitement in learning new skills can be both exciting and frightening for them. Our classrooms offers them a nurturing, safe place to explore their world and learn new skills. We love being part of this exciting time in their lives!
YELLOW SCHOOL TODDLER PROGRAM:
Our toddler center will provide your child with a safe and nurturing environment designed especially for 12 months to 3-year-olds.
Through developmentally appropriate activities, we will help your child in establishing skills in fine and gross motor abilities, language, self-help and social skills. Your child will have fun with science and math, books and words, singing and moving, art and creating, and sharing with and enjoying others. Our enrichment activities include music, literature, baby massage, yoga, and Stretch-N-Grow.
For many children, this is their first experience in a childcare setting, and for many, it will be the first time away from mom and dad. We want to make the transition as smooth as possible by developing a trusting, empathetic and nurturing relationship with your child. It is also important to establish an open relationship with parents and families. Working together, we can help your child have a successful transition from home to school. Daily notes home help to keep you updated on your child’s progress and keep you well informed about all the activities your child had fun doing that day.
Our small home-like building is divided into three classrooms with limited class sizes. The entire building is licensed for just 26 children and we are able to provide a wonderful experience for each child.
We understand the impact that these children's growing brains are having on their view of the world. We work specifically on activities that improve children's positive attachments, through child-teacher attunement and develop a sense of self-regulation.
BLUE SCHOOL PRESCHOOL PROGRAM
We are an all-day preschool program with learning and fun always happening within our walls. We provide a home-like environment for children to learn and grow on their journey toward kindergarten. Children leave our program excited to learn and confident about their place in the world.
Group time is a time for discussions, stories, language arts, and learning games. Morning snack and lunch are included as a nutritional and social part of our program.
Activity time is a time for teacher-directed experiences (such as creative art, craft art, baking, science, math projects, group games, etc.) and child-directed activities (such as blocks, dramatic play, workbench, art easel, climber, cognitive learning games, etc.) This “freedom of choice” time allows children to choose friends and activities they enjoy and need; they learn to socialize, explore, and create in a child-oriented environment.
Enrichment-time has developed over many years to be a fun and educational experience for children and staff. We have teachers come in for a variety of teaching topics, usually a creative movement or dance teacher, a nutrition and exercise teacher and a Spanish or Sign Language teacher. These activities give children additional time in very specific learning, but also give children an experience with different teachers and learning styles. Our teachers remain with the children, as well.
We continue our learning outside of the classroom often. We are outside in our park-like playground at least twice a day. We are sure children get a chance to spend time in nature and to get in time to move, move, move! In addition to using our playgrounds, we go on neighborhood walks and take advantage of our downtown community. Each class takes field trips twice per month. One trip is to the library and the other is to a community location such as the grocery store or the discovery science museum.
Business Review
We have been with YPLC since our oldest was 18 months (she’s 4 now) and we couldn’t say anything less than great things. We now have one kiddo in the infant room and one at plum street. All the staff is phenomenal. They truly care about our kids. They make sure they are learning, laughing, and safe at all times. Both our children love it there! We couldn’t be happier with YPLC!
We LOVE YPLC!! Our son has gone there since he was 2 months old. The caregivers at Alliance were amazing - they gave us clueless first-time-parents advice when we needed it the most and took the best care of our baby. Now he’s at the Yellow House & we are so happy with how things are going over there as well. Our son is constantly learning new things & clearly enjoys being there. He has the best time at “school” and is outside often, which is something we really value. Everyone at YPLC is truly an extension of our family & we don’t know what we’d do without them. We can’t recommend this caring and loving group of people enough!
