For the past 14 years, STEM-X (formerly “STEM Institutes”) has operated with a vision to create STEM confidence and competence in ALL students. Originally, our offerings were strictly focused on only traditionally understood science, technology, engineering, and math topics. As we have grown over the years, we have recognized that no discipline exists in isolation and that all learning is interdisciplinary. For example, is a digital art class art OR technology? The answer is simple; it is art AND technology or expressing art through technology. Therefore, our new STEM-X brand embodies the idea that STEM is important and that it is an inclusive term that can represent all the STEM entry points students can experience.
STEM-X is a Poudre School District summer program offering week-long classes on high-interest topics for students entering grades 1-8. It will run from June 6-17, 2022 this year. All students (including non-PSD) are welcome to apply to the program and if they are admitted can choose whether they will attend for one or two weeks, and for mornings, afternoons, or full-days.
