Inspired by her daughter Janeth got her High School Diploma through Archways To Opportunity
Local McDonald’s Owner/Operator Lauren Holmberg and her employees Hosted A Celebration For Janeth Fernandez. Janeth used McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity education assistance to obtain her Accredited High School Diploma through Career Online High School. This free program offered to eligible McDonald’s employees, gave her the flexibility to balance work and school, gaining real-world career skills with adult-focused class content.
Janeth didn’t think she’d get her high school diploma but was inspired when her daughter graduated from High School and encouraged her to follow her dreams. Janeth’s supervisor, Maria Perez, used Archways to Opportunity to obtain her High School Diploma in 2015 and was Janeth’s mentor through the 6-month program.
‘We were thrilled to celebrate Janeth with her family and our crew,’ said Lauren Holmberg, Loveland McDonald’s Owner/Operator. ‘I love when my employees take advantage of McDonald’s Archway to Opportunity free education program, aiding them in achieving their future career goals!’
Today we are thrilled to celebrate Janeth Fernandez’s graduation from the McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity Career Online High School!
Janeth started with our organization in 2020. She moved up from crew member to crew trainer and then manager in 2022. Throughout her time with us, Janeth has been recognized for her positive outlook, willingness to learn and help others, and wonderful customer hospitality.
This past summer, Janeth decided she wanted to take the next step in her career. She was inspired by her daughter who graduated, and was encouraging Janeth to go back to school. We also have our supervisor here, Maria Perez, who graduated through this program in 2015.
Career Online High School is no cost to eligible employees where they choose a career path that fits their goals. Throughout the program, they take all the High School courses as well as those in their career path to earn a full High School diploma.
Janeth is amazingly talented and motivated! While the Career Online High School program allows 18 months to complete, Janeth finished in about 6 months. Throughout she was sharing her progress and learnings with the team and her mentor, Maria. We were all so impressed with how quickly she was moving through the classes and her excitement for the learnings!
Today we are thrilled to present Janeth Fernandez with her diploma and recognizer all her accomplishments with McDonald’s Archways Career Online High School. Janeth, we cannot wait to se what you accomplish next!

The Archways to Opportunity program helps employees on the path to success by improving English skills, learning Spanish, earning a high school diploma, working toward a college degree, and counsel through making an education and career plan.
Since the launch in April 2015, over 82,500 restaurant employees in the U.S. have enrolled in Archways to Opportunity. In just Colorado alone, $350,000 has been awarded in tuition assistance provided to more than 160 local restaurant employees.
