Connect with the Collectors of Unique Collections
will be hosted from 5-7 pm Thursday, May 9,
at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures.
During the informational meet-and-greet, contributors to the Museum’s Main Gallery exhibit, Collections: Unexpected Treasures, will be present to answer questions about their unique items and the collecting process.
“Not only are the collections exceptional, but the collectors themselves are extraordinary people,” said Seraina Gessler, curator of the exhibit along with her husband, Johannes, and Marilyn Pierson. “Attendees will meet the individuals who collect items such as glowing uranium glass and barbed wire.
The collectors of pie birds, scrap metal sculptures, bird figurines, combs, baskets, stone axes, fossils, thimbles, trolls, spoons, masks, and beach pebbles will also be available.”
Admission to the gathering is $5 per person, and reservations are requested at globalvillagemuseum.org.
Refreshments will be served, and registrants will enjoy free admission to the Museum’s four galleries, Losel Doll house, and international music room. The Main Gallery exhibit runs through May 25.
The Global Village Museum is located at 200 West Mountain Avenue, and Museum hours are 11 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday.
Regular admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, $1 for ages 4-15, and free for children three and under. Adult tours receive discounted admission of $3/person.
