Have kids who love animals? If you're looking for animals near you in Northern Colorado we have the list! From zoo animals to farm animals, and from the furry to the scaly, we have all the animals you'll need to please your little animal lover. 

Here's where to find animals in Loveland, Fort Collins, Wellington and all over NOCO:

NoCo Cat Cafe

Well the name says it all! Cats are all around. You can adopt the kitties you see or you can just get your fill of feline nuzzles and cuddles. There are a few things to know before you go one of which is that there is a $12 entry fee for all ages. Follow this link for details




The Farm at Lee Martinez Park

A true farm with all kinds of farm life. Cattle, horses, sheep, goats, chickens, hogs and more. During fall they have a fall festival where you can get pumpkins and gourds along with other farm fun like tractor hay rides.

Bee Family Centennial Farm Museum

This historical farm has a wide variety of farm animals, you'll see horses, lambs, chickens, cattle and more. It's only open from May to October, Friday & Saturday 9am - 4pm. Entrance fees range from $4-$8. 

Little Angels Pony And Pals

River's Edge Natural Area

Nature at it's best. You will find all kinds of wildlife here even though it seems to be surrounded by city.  

Northern Colorado Wildlife Center

Want to help our local wildlife? The Northern Colorado Wildlife Center is a rehabilitation and rescue for wildlife. If you find an animal who has been hurt in some way you can bring the animal to the NCWC or have them come and get the animal. (Call them or go on their site for more information). 




Laughing Buck Farm

Laughing Buck Farm is a woman owned and run working farm. They have camps, farm days, horse and pony lessons, therapeutic riding therapy, farm tours and sward play.  As far as animals go they have horses, pigs, chickens, goats, bees, they also have a great garden. 

Lovin Arms Animal Sanctuary
3470 Co Rd 7, Erie, CO 80516 - (720) 515-8577 

These animals have had rough lives before finding refuge at Lovin Arms Animal Sanctuary. Chickens, pigs, geese, ducks, sheep, goats, turkeys, cows, and horses all get to live out their lives in a stress free and loving environment. Come and visit on a farm tour or attend an event. 


Lil' Buckaroo's Farm
4738 Co Rd 5, Erie, CO 80516 - (303) 870-5106

There are some wonderful sweet animals here ready to be loved gently. You will find rabbits, miniature ponies, lama, horses, pigs, goats, turtles, donkeys, chickens and cows. They offer tours and reservations are strongly recommended. They have waivers to sign as well.

Worth The Drive from Fort Collins. 

The Wild Animal Sanctuary

This sanctuary saves all kind of wildlife from harm and suffering. Tickets for the self guided tour are expensive but the proceeds go to rescuing animals from dangerous and neglectful situations. 


Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center
4729 Twin Rocks Rd, Divide, CO 80814 - (719) 687-9742

They have five different tours for all ages and all interests. Choices are Standard, Full Moon, Feeding, Kids and interactive tours. Reservations are strongly recommended. Tours are pricey but they are educational, fun and support wolf rescue. 


Denver Zoo

Every animal under the sun - almost. They are open daily except holidays with special events throughout the year. 


Cheyenne Mountain Zoo 
4250 Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80906 - (719) 633-9925

When you get here it's a whole different zoo experience. Animals seem so close and you can feed some of them. It's a great place for a little to come and get close to animals like Giraffes that they don't have an opportunity to do at other places. 


Rocky Mountain Wildlife Park
6550 Gateway Rd, Commerce City, CO 80022 - (303) 289-0930

There are tours that are inexpensive. All of the "wild" animals at Rocky Mountain Wildlife Park have all lost their fear of people and do not have the skills to survive in the wild. If released, they would most likely be killed trying to get to people for food or starve to death due to lack of survival skills. Additionally none of our animals are candidates for rehabilitation for release to the wild due to human acclimation. All of these animals are non-releasable. Some arrived from people who had them for pets and realized they did not make suitable pets. Some of these animals came from other zoo's or facilities that were closed or overcrowded or just needed to be placed in a different home for one reason or another. The park is not permitted to capture or take in an animal from the wild; all of the animals must be approved from the state licensing agent. 


Colorado Gators Reptile Park

They have hundreds of rescued reptiles including alligators, crocodiles, caiman, tortoises, and turtles. See albino alligators, and Morris the movie star alligator! Hands on Experiences! All visitors to Colorado Gators have the opportunity to pet, hold, and take pictures with a small alligator! Buy Gator Chow to feed the alligators! Visitors can also pet and feed tortoises, feed the fish, fish for carp to feed to the alligators!


Butterfly Pavillion

Hold Rosie the Tarantella and see various sea creatures. Get to touch a starfish and a horseshoe crab. Enter the pavilion and share a one of a kind experience with butterflies that you can see up close and personal. If you are lucky one may even land on you.   


Downtown Aquarium

So many ways to enjoy this huge aquarium. They have a mermaid day, a homeschool day, you can dine there, you can host a birthday here. It's a fun way to see all the sea life.
