Have Kuners On Hand For Those Busy Days To Make Dinner FAST & Not Miss Out On Nutrients. #sponsored

I don't know about you, but our house is always popping with things to do.

Swim class, Piano, Girl Scouts and it goes on and on. There are times I get home at 6:30 or 7 and need to start dinner from scratch. I do try to plan ahead, but sometimes the best laid plans go south. In those cases I am truly thankful to have Kuner's on hand to throw into a pot or pan and Voila! Dinner is served! And it's not bedtime before dinner is ready.

I had a period of time where I didn't  eat canned veggies because I thought, when canned, they lost all their nutrients and were packed with too many preservatives and salt. Kuner's offers a great variety of options in the original forms and in no salt added versions. Along with some great combos like Salsa Tomato with Jalepeno, which is my favorite go to for chili. Kuner's has been a trusted brand for over 150 years in Colorado, and why not? They taste great and are good for you. Kuner's products are paced with protein, fiber, iron, magnesium and much more.

I keep a stocked pantry, and Kuner's is a huge part of it, along with spaghetti and macaroni & cheese LOL. We use the vegetables and beans in tons of recipes. I'm sharing a couple family favorites here.

Mama Melissa's Chili

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef

1 14.5 oz Kuner's Salsa Tomatoes and Mild Jalapenos (do not drain)

1 14.5 oz Kuner's Diced Tomatoes (do not drain - with or without salt your choice)

1 15.5 oz Kuner's Chili Beans (do not drain - original or hot your choice)

1 can of water (use one of the Kuner's cans)

If you like you can add the following seasonings:

Salt - to taste

Cumin to add a stronger chili taste

Chili powder to taste

Toppings are optional:

Cheddar Cheese (to taste)

Fresh Diced Jalapenos (to taste)

Roasted Chili Peppers (to taste)

In a medium pot, brown hamburger meat.  Once meat is done, add Kuner's Salsa Tomatoes liquid and all, add Diced Tomatoes liquid and all, add Kuner's Hot Chili Beans liquid and all, add one can of water (use one of the Kuner's cans). At about 15 minutes in or just before you serve, you can season as you like with salt, cumin, and/or chili powder to taste.  Cook at medium for apx 20 - 30 minutes total. Top with any topping  you desire such as Cheddar Cheese, Fresh diced Jalapenos, roasted green chilies as desired.

Serve with Korny Cornbread or on it's own.

Korny Cornbread

1 8.5 oz ready made corn muffin mix

1 Egg

1/3 Cup Milk

1/4 Cup Finely Diced Roasted Pepper

1/4 Cup Finely Diced Red Pepper

1 Cup Kuner's Whole Kernel Corn

Top with butter, or cheese if you desire

Mix together Corn muffin mix, egg, and milk. Add roasted pepper, red pepper, and Kuner's Kernel Corn. Pour into pan (8x8, 7x10 or similar - you can make muffins too!). Bake at 400F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown or till toothpick comes out clean. Top with butter, or cheddar cheese if you desire.

Half the fun is being creative with what you top your chili and cornbread with.

Serve with Mama Melissa's chili or on it's own.

I highly recommend trying out the Kuner's Black Bean Brownies to get your kids to some protein in without them noticing.  Check out this recipe and more ideas at Kunersfoods.com.
