I had the pleasure of speaking with Natalie Phillips (who I'm proud to say subscribes to: as she says my "awesome email updates on the happenings around Fort Collins and Northern Colorado"). She is a dynamic lady who after just speaking to her for a short period of time seems truly dedicated to enriching and empowering kids and with this project in particualar empowering young ladies by partnering with Dr. Jen Welter.
For those of you who don't know Dr Jen Welter she is a Gold Medalist, and the first female NFL coach. She too actively works to empower girls and women thought out the world. For more on Dr. Jen Welter visit her site www.jenwelter.com.
Together these two incredible women in partnership with the NFL Alumni, have worked together to bring a Grrridiron Girls Flag football camp to Northern Colorado on Sunday 8/12/18! Donations from Scheels in Johnstown, Freddy’s Burgers in Loveland, MileHigh Blaze, a semi-pro women’s tackle football team and others will also be providing items for the camp or be available at the camp .
Natalie Phillips met Dr. Jen Welter initially at a UN Foundation Girl Up Leadership Summit over a year ago and since then, has been connected to her and had the opportunity to hear her speak and inspire business owners and entrepreneurs as well as young kids in her multiple football camps. Dr. Jen Welter released her first book, Play Big, in October 2017 and has been on a speaking circuit and book tour with multiple media outlets. She is incredibly inspirational and Natalie is SO excited to be a part of bringing the Grrridiron Girls Flag football camp to Colorado. We are lucky enough to be able to run it in Northern Colorado, at Mountain View High School on August 12! The camp is for girls ages 6-18.
