LearningRx Personal Brain Training Reviews

By LearningRx Fort Collins February 11, 2018

One-on-one brain training company LearningRx (www.LearningRx.com/fortcollins) is sharing tips with parents, grandparents and teachers who want to help struggling students fall in love with reading.

1. Target weak reading skills with personal brain training.

The root of most learning struggles is weak cognitive skills. In the case of dyslexia, the weakest cognitive skill is phonemic awareness. Using personal brain training, you can strengthen the underlying cognitive skills needed to read quickly, easily and with comprehension.

A study of LearningRx’s (www.LearningRx.com/fortcollins) ReadRx personal brain training program results found that after training, the group of students made statistically significant gains on tests of World Attack, Spelling Sounds, Sound Awareness and Passage Comprehension. Additionally, 91% of students who completed the ReadRx program showed improvement on state reading achievement tests. The results have been published in LearningRx’s 48-page 2016 edition of Client Outcomes and Research Results, which can be downloaded here: http://www.learningrx.com/our-programs/learningrx-results/.

2. Choose the right books.

Choose books that are too easy and you risk boring your child or teen. Too hard and they give up. Teachers can provide you with your child’s Lexile Measure, which can help you choose appropriate texts via https://lexile.com/. Librarians can also be a great resource to help choose books at the proper reading level.

3. Set a good example.

Lead your kids to a love of reading by limited the family’s use of technology and encouraging leisure reading with designated “book hours.” Do as I say, not as I do, usually doesn’t work in parenting, so make reading one of those good habits you model for your children.
