Har Shalom Preschool & Kindergarten is a Montessori-Inspired Children's House serving the primary ages of three to six years old. Warm, kind teachers provide a nurturing environment celebrating each child. Teachers individualize learning, support social skill-building, and guide young chefs in cooking nutritious snacks. Outdoor Play is an important part of our world. Children love to imagine on our natural playground, plant and harvest fruits & vegetables in the organic garden, and sled on the hills when the outdoors becomes a winter wonderland!
We have a wonderfully diverse population of families of all different backgrounds that create an inspiring multicultural environment. Children at Har Shalom enjoy sharing celebrations, languages, and cultures with each other. Jewish holidays are celebrated throughout the year filled with fun, age-appropriate curriculum, and events.

"1. We are so grateful to Har Shalom and all of the wonderful teachers. We were so lucky to have such a warm, nurturing environment for our two young children. The teachers really appreciated each child individually and allowed them to grow and blossom in their own ways and at their own pace. We could not have asked for a more loving, safe, family-like first school for our kids. It's been a wonderful 5 years, and we will miss it!
2. Our daughter attended Har Shalom Preschool and Kindergarten for two years. As a non-Jewish family, we were slightly concerned that she was not familiar with any of the Jewish traditions, holidays, etc. Yet, she had enjoyed going to school from day one and probably more so on those “special days” – celebrating Jewish holidays! Although the classroom is fantastic (spacious, well-organized and welcoming), we do think that the teachers are the most important element in educating young people. All teachers at Har Shalom are very, very caring, knowing the needs and preferences for each individual child, providing an amazing loving environment and a unique teaching style!
Similarly, we have made lasting friendships among the families and really enjoyed the community feeling at Har Shalom. The school helped our daughter grow immensely - academically, socially, emotionally and has shaped her as a very kind, generous and loving person. We are very grateful that our daughter had the opportunity to learn through Montessori education at the school and be part of the amazing Har Shalom community! We will truly miss everybody at Har Shalom!"
