Publisher's Corner: Remember, it's the little things that count.

By Melissa Shrader Editor/Publisher Fort Collins Macaroni Kid March 15, 2021

WELCOME TO PUBLISHER'S CORNER!

Merry Christmas! Wait it's St. Patrick's week.  It seems to be winter again. I hope everyone is inside and warm. Hopefully, you can either work from home or your place of employment lets you stay home today. And - Ah, yes. It's spring break right?

If you do need to get out please be careful. Seriously. Many things are big and important but remember it's the little things our kids remember. They will remember if you make them feel safe before you head off to work. They remember if you take the time to make a snowperson or snowpet.

This snow may be a huge inconvenience on one hand but on the other, it's a great opportunity to make a memory. Make some hot cocoa and pick a movie you all love and snuggle under a blanket and watch it. Make a tent or fort in the living room and create a camping night! Get out some of your favorite books and snuggle up and read. Paint some images from the books or an activity you did. Take plenty of pictures. Make some fun Leprechaun traps!

We make one every year and we keep getting soooo close! We even see footprints on the trap. That leprechaun is tricky! There is tons of mischief when he visits. Shoes go missing and we find them in another room. Candy is hidden around the house. Gold coins are snuck under our pillows!

We will be going outside and doing a bubble experiment this week. It's so cold outside we will blow bubbles outside and see if they freeze! Check on Facebook to see the fun.

Please remember to be safe, keep fun and family in mind, and make sure you take care of yourself. The best way to take care of your family is to make sure your own bucket is full. Then you can fill their little buckets so much easier.

Merry St. Patrick's Day LOL!
