Roaming the unnamed wilderness of the western territory, Sonya hoped that her family survived the Indian attack. Finding any people, food or safety felt impossible until horses penetrated the silence. As the indigenous man grabbed her arm and pulled her onto his horse, she passed out from fright and weakness. The hunting camp they took her to was high on the Flattop Mountains. It was this White River Ute clan that fed and clothed her, even though she didn’t understand their language or way of life. How would Sonya conquer her sorrow and embrace survival? When would she be reunited with pioneers like herself? Sonya’ adventure is brimming with courage and resilience.

Armed Stargazer

Nancy Doyle, Author of "Armed Stargazer” (This one has a tame sex scene, some language and death, so best for older teens and adults.)

Nancy Doyle lives in Colorado; land of blue skies and low humidity. Armed Stargazer is her first novel.

Armed Stargazer By Nancy Doyle

A gripping sci-fi novel.

Archaeologist Socorro Reyes has accepted the assignment of a lifetime, searching for remains of a species capable of teleportation on a distant planet. But, during a violent last-minute argument with her partner, there is a fatal accident and she must make a choice. Get to the starship Sojourner and complete her mission or stay on Earth and take the blame.

"Lady, you know your front door's hanging open, don't you"? The driver's eyes narrowed at me in the rear-view mirror. "Do you want to run back and shut it?"

"Fifteen hundred dollars if you get me to DC International in thirty minutes," I said, pulling my jacket closed.

"Suit yourself," he muttered as we accelerated steadily into the snow storm.

I turned and watched the townhouse recede, its porch light glowing, haloed by snow, fading to a bright pinpoint in the dark.
